Classes taught by Rio Betts

Rio Betts

Rio Betts is an early childhood educator and proud mother of six, bringing love and compassion to every classroom she enters. With a natural ability to connect with young learners, she transforms each day into an engaging adventure in discovery, growth, and joy.

She holds years of hands-on experience in daycare and preschool settings as well as in her own home teaching her children.

Rio is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Special Education. With this, she hopes to develop trusting relationships with her students and provide a space for all to feel safe and included.

In her spare time, Rio enjoys being in the great outdoors with her family, whether that’s playing at the beach or camping in the mountains or gardening in her own backyard, being outside in nature is her happy place!

Course Description:

This play-based, hands-on class is designed to help young learners develop the foundational skills they need for a confident and joyful transition into a social learning setting. Using age-appropriate games, music and movement, art activities, and interactive storytelling, students will explore, create, and connect while learning how to participate in a structured group environment.

Each session is thoughtfully planned to support the development of key learning skills, including fine and gross motor coordination, social-emotional awareness, communication, listening, and teamwork. Through imaginative play and guided group activities, students will learn to take turns, follow directions, share materials, and build friendships—all in a nurturing, encouraging space where every child feels seen and valued.
