Allie Heaton

  Allie is a kind and caring mom of five who is passionate about helping kids grow in confidence and joy. A city girl turned rural adventurer, she’s embraced country life and the close-knit community it brings. With experience as a reading coach and a heart for encouraging every child, Allie is excited to bring her energy and creativity to our Games and Movement class—helping kids fall in love with staying active while building strong minds and bodies. 

Games and Movement for grades K-4 & 5-8

Class Details:

Wednesdays for grades 5-8

10:30 am -11:30 am


Mondays OR Wednesdays for grades K-4

11:50 am- 12:50 pm

Class Description:

  Get ready to move, play, and have some good old-fashioned fun!  This fun, high-energy class invites kids and teens to discover the joy of movement through games, challenges, and interactive activities. Students will build coordination, confidence, and teamwork while exploring the importance of keeping their bodies active in a positive, encouraging environment. With a focus on fun over competition, this class helps students develop a lifelong love of movement and healthy habits. 

Course Objectives:

  By the end of this class, students will:

  • Improve coordination, agility, and balance through active play
     
  • Build teamwork and sportsmanship in cooperative and competitive games
     
  • Develop problem-solving and strategic thinking through movement challenges
     
  • Gain confidence in physical activity while having fun and staying engaged

Class Structure:

  Each session will follow a consistent and engaging format:

Warm-Up & Icebreaker (5 minutes)
 

  • Stretching, light movement, and fun warm-up games
     
  • Quick team-building or partner challenges
     

Main Game or Skill Focus (30 minutes)
 

  • Introduction to the day's main game or skill
     
  • Explanation of rules, safety, and strategy
     
  • Practice rounds before full gameplay
     

Movement Challenge or Obstacle Course (20 minutes)
 

  • Rotating movement-based challenges
     
  • Relay races, balancing activities, coordination drills
     

Cool Down & Reflection (5 minutes)
 

  • Breathing and stretching
     
  • Group discussion: What did we enjoy today? What did we learn?
