Emilee Wells loves teaching math so much that it's almost embarrassing. She taught for a few years in public schools, and has spent the last 15 years arranging for creative ways to get more and more students to do math in the most fun way possible. (But honestly, the math itself is the most fun part!) Emilee says the best compliment she has ever received is when someone told her daughter, "Your mom teaches math class like she thinks she's at a birthday party." (Compliment received, skeptical tone of the speaker notwithstanding.)

This Hybrid Pre-Algebra course is designed to bridge the gap between basic arithmetic and higher-level algebraic concepts. Students will attend in-person instruction twice a week for 90 minutes, where they will engage in direct teaching, guided practice, and collaborative problem-solving activities. On the other days, students will complete assigned work at home to reinforce concepts learned in class, develop independent learning skills, and gain confidence in their mathematical abilities.
This course will cover key Pre-Algebra topics such as integers, fractions, decimals, percentages, equations, inequalities, ratios, proportions, and introductory geometry concepts. Through interactive lessons, group discussions, and real-world applications, students will build a strong mathematical foundation to prepare them for Algebra 1
This Hybrid Pre-Algebra course is ideal for students who benefit from both structured in-person instruction and independent practice at home. By combining classroom engagement with self-paced learning, students will gain the confidence and skills needed to excel in Algebra and beyond.
