 This Middle School History course is designed to guide students through the rich tapestry of human history, from the dawn of civilization to the complexities of the modern world. Meeting once a week for 36 weeks, this class gives students a deeper understanding of the people, events, cultures, and innovations that have shaped our world. With a four-year rotating schedule, students can take the class for multiple years without repeating content, gaining a broader and more layered understanding of global history.

Each year, the curriculum focuses on a distinct historical era, progressing chronologically from Ancient History through Modern Times. Students will explore key civilizations, pivotal events, and influential figures through interactive lessons, discussions, creative projects, and hands-on activities. The class encourages critical thinking, perspective-taking, and a love for learning about the past.

 This Middle School Spanish Language & Culture class is an engaging introduction to the Spanish language and the diverse cultures of Spanish-speaking countries. In our weekly classes students will develop basic communication skills while gaining an appreciation for the traditions, geography, and customs of the Spanish-speaking world.

Students will build a foundation in Spanish vocabulary, pronunciation, and essential phrases through interactive lessons, games, music, storytelling, and cultural projects. They will also explore the rich history and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries, making connections between language and culture in meaningful ways.

 Throughout the year, students will:

• Learn Basic Spanish Language Skills:
   
  • Common greetings and introductions
     
  • Numbers, colors, days of the week, and basic sentence structures
     
  • Everyday vocabulary related to family, food, school, and hobbies
     
  • Basic grammar, including noun-adjective agreement and present-tense verbs
     
• Engage in Fun & Interactive Activities:
   
  • Conversational practice and role-playing
     
  • Songs, stories, and cultural videos
     
  • Games and hands-on projects
     
• Explore Spanish-Speaking Cultures:
   
  • Traditions, holidays, and celebrations from different countries
     
  • Geography and famous landmarks of the Spanish-speaking world
     
  • Art, music, and cuisine from various cultures
     
• Develop Communication & Listening Skills:
   
  • Participate in simple conversations and activities in Spanish
     
  • Practice pronunciation and listening comprehension
     
  • Build confidence in using Spanish in everyday situations
     

By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in basic Spanish and a deeper appreciation for the cultures where it is spoken. This class is a great starting point for future language learning and cultural exploration!
