Our Exploring Science Careers class introduces students to the vast world of scientific professions through hands-on learning, guest speakers, and engaging projects. Each quarter, we will focus on a different scientific field, including Energy, Botany, Mammals, and Geology, to explore the science behind these careers and the real-world impact they have. Students will dive into experiments, discussions, and activities that bring these fields to life while gaining insight into the various paths available in STEM-related careers.
A highlight of this course is the opportunity to hear from guest speakers each month—professionals working in different scientific fields who will share their experiences, career journeys, and insights into the exciting work they do. Students will engage in interactive projects related to each career focus, such as analyzing energy sources, growing and studying plants, learning about animal behaviors, and investigating rocks and minerals. By the end of the year, students will have a deeper appreciation for the diversity of scientific careers and a clearer understanding of how science shapes the world around them.
This course is perfect for students who are curious about science, love hands-on learning, and want to explore the many career paths available in the STEM fields!
