As founders of Alliance Learning Center, Lonnie and Angel bring both expertise and energy into the classroom. Lonnie, a Mechanical Engineer with 26 years of experience, and Angel, an educator and former robotics coach, are passionate about creating engaging, meaningful learning experiences they’ve refined and loved sharing with students over the years.

Class Overview:
In this hands-on, project-based class, students explore the exciting world of engineering by designing, building, and testing real creations. We will begin the year with simple machines, moving on to explore the wide variety of engineering specialties, and end the year with everyone's favorite complex system, the roller coaster. Students will develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence as they learn how engineers think, work, and problem-solve using the engineering design process.

- In-depth units on the six simple machines with interactive builds
- Design and create a Rube Goldberg machine

- Participate in exciting challenges like egg drops and bridge competitions
- Collaborate in teams to solve real-world engineering problems
- Develop creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Culminating roller coaster design project using real engineering principles
