Classes Taught by Angela foster...

Angela Foster

My name is Angela Foster I’m a mother of four. Being a mother is my greatest joy in life and also what has taught me the most about myself and life.
My husband and I moved here almost 15 years ago and homesteaded where we currently live.
I have loved all things nature ever since I can remember.
I have a lot of interests and when I like something I pursue it passionately.
I have studied herbalism, midwifery, geology, theology, psychology. Though I do not have any degrees in any of these subjects. I still have my experience and passion that has taught me a lot in each of these subjects.
I am passionate about life and living it fully. It is my expressed desire that all that are around me experience the love for life and nature. I come alive in the presence of children because they are self expressed and allow themselves to love and experience life more fully.
I’m excited to be a mentor, to teach and be taught by your children.

Class Description:

Step into the world of wonder as young explorers become curious naturalists! In this hands-on, observation-based class, students will discover the fascinating world of plants while developing their own personal nature journals. From seeds and soil to leaves, flowers, and ecosystems, students will learn how plants grow, adapt, and support life all around us.

Students will also be introduced to simple, age-appropriate medicinal applications of plants—exploring how people have traditionally used herbs for things like soothing, healing, and wellness. With a focus on respect, safety, and curiosity, learners will gain a deeper appreciation for the natural resources around them.

Through outdoor exploration, simple experiments, sketching, and guided journaling, students will sharpen their observation skills and learn to record what they see, think, and wonder. Each class includes creative journaling prompts that help students connect more deeply with nature:

  • I see… (careful observation)
  • I wonder… (curiosity questions)
  • It reminds me of… (personal connection and imagination)

Perfect for students who love being outside, asking questions, drawing, and discovering the beauty in everyday nature, this class blends science, creativity, and reflection into a meaningful and memorable experience.
