With a passion for language and meaningful connection, Marion brings the beauty of French language and culture to life in her classroom. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French from Weber State University and previously taught in the Davis School District’s dual immersion French program for four years. Her love for French deepened during her service mission in France and Switzerland, where she gained an appreciation for both the language and the people.
Marion's goal is to create immersive experiences that go beyond vocabulary and grammar—cultivating cultural understanding, curiosity, and confidence in her students.
She believes that immersion is the most effective way to learn a language—by hearing it, speaking it, and experiencing it in meaningful context.
She draws inspiration from The Little Prince, where Saint-Exupéry writes, “L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.” This idea guides her teaching, a reminder that language is a bridge to deeper understanding, connection, and meaning beyond the surface.

In this fun and interactive course, students will be introduced to the basics of French conversation and the rich cultural diversity of the French-speaking world. Through songs, games, stories, and role-play, children will learn how to greet others, introduce themselves, talk about their favorite things, and ask simple questions—all in French!
Each class also highlights a different Francophone country, exploring its traditions, foods, holidays, music, and famous landmarks. From France to Senegal, Canada to Haiti, students will gain a global perspective while building practical language skills in a lively and supportive environment.
No prior French experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to say “bonjour!”
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Use basic French greetings and polite expressions, such as "Bonjour", "Comment ça va?", "Merci", and "Au revoir".

3. Ask and answer simple questions about familiar topics such as family, favorite foods, colors, and hobbies.
4. Recognize and use common vocabulary related to everyday life (e.g., numbers, days of the week, weather, classroom objects).
5. Understand and follow simple spoken instructions in French.
6. Identify French-speaking countries around the world and locate them on a map.
